This expedition is available for 26 guests for only two weeks in December (6 – 13 December and 13 – 20 December 2019).
LEGEND is fully equipped for serious polar exploration, with everything from sea kayaks, dive equipment, snowmobiles and jet skis, to submersibles and heli-pads (latter at extra cost) onboard. The range of experiences available from this incredible vessel include breath-taking kayaking through fleets of dramatic icebergs, incredible wildlife encounters with chinstrap penguins, seals and indigenous sea birds and whales. Explorers will also visit the polar research station, and can join in the scientific research efforts with resident experts working directly with unique wildlife, recording the weather patterns, and learning more about the history of the world as extrapolated from the ice. Those feeling brave can take the plunge into the geothermal waters, or take a helicopter up to the top of the glaciers for spectacular views and sundowners. Pelorus can arrange week-long expeditions onboard Legend in the Antarctic for from 50,000 EUR per cabin. This price includes accommodation in Punta Arenas (briefing and dinner), return flights from Punta Arenas to King George Island, all guide fees and permits, land expeditions, a visit to the polar research station, polar kayaking, polar plunge, all food and drink excluding some premium champagnes and spirits, fuel, the ice pilot, crew and service.
